Sentara Healthcare awarded WINKS a grant to expand our Empathy in Action program. The grant enabled WINKS to create and distribute Brain Tumor Power Packs to newly diagnosed brain tumor patients in the Hampton Roads area, which better equipped patients and their caregivers to meet the challenges of a brain tumor diagnosis, empowered them to make informed decisions about care, and provided information about WINKS’ services and support.
Additionally, the Sentara Healthcare grant helped WINKS raise awareness in the
community, increase the number of need-based Empathy in Action grants, and expand the
number of patients and caregivers served.
